I believe that it is never too late to change and live a more fulfilling life. throughout our lives, we develop strategies in order to cope with what life throws at us. But there are times when our 'old ways' of dealing with things, are not working so well any more.  This may lead to feelings of being overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or getting the sense of feeling 'stuck'.  However, these strong feelings are only part of the story.

Through counselling, it is possible to explore these strong feelings and slowly discover other ways of dealing with situations and see things differently. I use an integrative way of working which means I use concepts and theories from different trains of thought to underpin and inform the way I work.

I am currently trained in working with adults (18 years and above) in an individual setting. My special interest is working with trauma as I believe that any emotional unrest has its roots in some form of trauma (from the past or more recent). As we are all individuals, we react differently, hence the signs of not coping may lead to anxiety and/or depression.

I am currently practicing as a private psychotherapeutic counsellor in Colchester and Braintree as well as working with caraessex.org.uk/CARA (Centre for Action on Rape and Abuse) through their Braintree and Chelmsford facilities.

I am an accredited member of the UKCP and hold a BSc (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling from Middlesex University and a BSc (Hons) Degree in Psychology from the Open University.
